Call to artists!

Welcome to the new season!

The Texas Firehouse (TF) is calling upon artists, performers, musicians and creative -types at large to submit works and/or ideas to be considered for our upcoming 2010 season.  The TF staff, along with guest curators, will review all submissions for inclusion into relevant shows. Works in all media (dance, print, paint, underwater basket weaving…) will be considered and, as always, there is no submission fee.

We here at the Firehouse are also seeking curatorial proposals for the upcoming season.  Curators and artists alike are welcome to submit proposals, complete with show name, included artists, requirements for installation, and a detailed curatorial statement.

Shows run for one night only, and often include bands, dj’s, and drinks, so please make your submission decisions accordingly. Keep in mind that the Texas Firehouse does not carry insurance, and therefore, all accepted work is submitted at the artist’s own risk; while we take great care in protecting your work, accidents can happen.

Submission info

Artists, performers, musicians, etc: Submissions can be made with a website URL, emailed digital imagery, or mailed cd-rom, along with any pertinent information regarding your work.   A current CV is not necessary, though extremely helpful.

Curators: The Texas Firehouse accepts 2 guest curatorial positions each season.  All proposals must meet the Firehouse criteria, outlined in this pdf.

Hope to hear from you soon, and good luck.
